Hi there, I’m Olu Mayy and welcome to my new Information Security Blog :D. I postponed the commencement of this blog for a very long time because I thought I wasn’t ready and not certified to talk to anyone about Information Security or as it is well-known by its trendy name –CyberSecurity. Instead I thought to myself, instead of waiting to get all the certifications which is probably endless by the way, I can grow with my audience as we make this transition into this world together. Awesome isn’t it?, I know!!! This is for anyone and everyone in the Information Technology field or any other field wanting to make a switch or just merely interested in security.
Background Information
I have a STEM background where I majored in Telecommunication Engineering in my undergrad years and Wireless Telecommunications in my Post-Graduate Studies and believe me, it was in one of my Post-Grad classes I whispered to my friend, “I want to go into this as a full-time career” and he chuckled, I haven’t looked back since then.
I have been in the IT field for some time now and I currently work for Rogers Communications inc. as Technical Support which so far has prepared me for my next role as I work with the CIA Triad everyday to carry out my daily tasks, It’s almost a year in this role and I think I am ready for a new challenge, so I started this blog to introduce and welcome you to join me on this journey. 🙂
My Pledge
As the saying goes, tiny drops of water eventually makes a mighty ocean. Starting out with anything is never easy but Consistency, Perseverance and Patience always prevails eventually and I want you to keep this same mindset with this big leap we are about to make.
